Clay Carmichael is an award-winning author-illustrator of books for young adults and children of all ages, most recently the illustrated novel Wild Things and the teen novel, Brother, Brother. Her books have been translated into many languages. She lives and works with her husband, sculptor Mike Roig, in Carrboro, NC and regularly speaks and teaches about her work. Visit her web site: . 

ARTIST STATEMENT

Clay Carmichael is the multi-award-winning author of three picture books, the illustrated novel Wild Things and the 2013 Young Adult novel Brother, Brother. Her books have been translated into many languages. She lives and works in Carrboro, North Carolina with her husband, metal sculptor Mike Roig. She often visits schools and libraries, teaches writing and illustrating, and speaks to groups of all ages on a wide variety of bookish and artistic topics.
