I am architect and artist, and have be displaying/selling my artwork at Marquet, 15 East 12th Street in Greenwich Village NY, for over ten years.
Was nominated and am a member of the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic. Have painted regularly at the Salmagundi Club in NY since 1997, to the present.
Have participated at many shows in NYC and metro area. Have won numerous awards. Work was also accepted in the Spring 2013 Gramercy Park show.
I portray contemporary life in the classical painting method and make my own paints using Guerra paints (from the East Village). Using just the primaries (red, yellow and blue) and white, I arrive at all the colors and values. My inspiration comes from such varied influences as Da Vinci, the Dutch masters, the Hudson River School, mid-century California, Picasso, the impressionists, Hopper and Warhol. (There's no shortage of other lesser known graphic influences). Variety is the spice of life, and my subjects and styles continuously evolve.
