With my work I describe with color, texture and shape the experience. Because of my ceramic sculpture background, I am highly sensitive to the surface and texture of my work. The process in which I make my work is symbolic to my meaning and purpose in creating. Just as we are continually vulnerable to chance and mishaps, we then, constantly evolve to become something more then we were, something stronger and more beautiful. Artist George Bataille said, “beauty can’t exist without a flaw.” As I let my work become “flawed” it becomes something beautiful, “richer and more alive.” Only when we are able to let go, are we able to “gain access to what is beyond our understanding.”
