Sarah Pearce is a painter who looks at nature through the lenses of ecology, natural history and eco-criticism. Pearce uses the language of abstract painting to create landscapes and depictions of natural phenomena. She received her BFA in painting from RISD and her MFA in painting from Indiana University. Originally from Massachusetts, she now lives in Bloomington, Indiana with her family, her dog, two cats and more than a few pet chickens.
Painting is a way for me to investigate the relationship between imagination and the natural world.
