I have been painting for over 40 years. I have works in many private and public collections around the world, and I am represented by numerous galleries.
I am an American painter of my environment. What is out my front door I paint. I have painted landscapes and barns in the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut, industrial landscapes in Northern New Jersey, the shores of Delaware and Cape Cod and have continually tried to break from the linear into the softer, more lyrical and poetic realms of light, shadow and the pure joy of paint pigment. The work is about more than just the scene, it is about history, Romanticism, transcendentalism, poetry and making the quotidian profound.
