Places contain memories. In our increasingly mobilized society, the concept of PLACE is even more deserving of reflection. Printed words, spoken words, visual images are all mobilized and ubiquitous, but mental images have an inseparable connection with place. The aim of all of my work is to unearth these memories through subtle manipulation of surface. To really see the past history of a reclaimed building or an abandoned structure, you must tread lightly...you must move slowly. You must observe. I adopt this same manner in my approach to my paintings.
