Melia is a self-taught artist who has shown work throughout the country in numerous shows. Her paintings have sold in both the United States and Europe. Donations from Melia's "Safe In My Arms" poster benefited the hurricane Katrina victims. She continues to donate original art to support and aid the human condition.
I am a self-taught artist. I paint from my imagination drawing upon life experience as my inspiration. I work in oil, using both brushes and my hands, sometimes mixing paint directly on the canvas. I approach each piece with childlike innocence and an unbridled enthusiasm for color.
