Margret Bell grew up in Chicago, IL. One of 6 children in a class of 25 not invited to join honors art in 5th grade she threw in the towel before knowing what the towel was. She began making collage 13 years ago and switched up to acrylics upon moving to New York City, because that’s all there was room for. She now resides in Venice, CA. Her work hangs in homes and offices in Philly, Chicago, San Francisco, Durham, Lawrence, Los Angeles, New York City, and Bolingbrook, IL, home of Drew Peterson.
Each of these pieces represents a temporal fix. Something escaping and being captured, before words putrify it. It’s art brut and it’s saved lives. Hopefully it can save yours, too.
