Judy Somerville was born in New York City. At the age of 3 she took classes at MOMA and immediately decided to be an artist. Years later she received a BA in art from Bard College and studied at the Forum Of Stage Design, with world renowned designer, Lester Polakov.
She has exhibited in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Brussels,Berchem, Tokyo Osaka, New York City and throughout the USA. Her paintings have been auctioned at Christies, NYC as well as several auction houses in Paris.
Cosmopolitan Magazine, Japanese edition, Popeye, Japan, The New York Post,Le Figaro, Paris, Die Wahrheit, Berlin, Suddeutsche Zeitung, Munich are among the many Magazines and Newspapers which have reviewed her work. She presently paints and resides in New York City and is represented by The Michael Ingbar Gallery,NYC.
By and By the painted world speaks for itself. An image whether it be architectural landscapes, radishes on the moon, travels to the center of the earth or whimsical old women shopping for a new life. By and by a world with infinite possibilities, their path always a mystery, find their home on my canvases.
