John Kesling was born and raised on the Ohio river. He attended undergraduate school at Morehead State University focusing on painting and ceramics. After studying in Europe for a semester, he enrolled in graduate school at at The Savannah College of Art and Design where he received his MFA in Painting in 2010. He now lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
Biography: After living in Savannah, GA where he received an MFA in painting, Kesling has relocated to Brooklyn, NY and is spending his time making work and looking around. He has no wife and no children. When he owns a dog, he will consider himself grown. Statement: Invention, collection, ownership, war, religion, sports, language, music and art. All of these things seem to make humans more than what we really are. As fancy animals, we've built the pyramids, amassed 234 Jose Cansecos, mastered the bassoon and romanticized the Hudson all to impress a girl or boy.
