Jennifer Glasgow was first taught to paint by her father, Dale Glasgow, also a painter from Virginia. Jennifer went to James Madison University, majoring in Media Arts and Design, with a minor in fine art. She moved to Los Angeles to finish her degree. There she began to show her work in galleries for the first time. In 2011, she moved to NYC where she has had art shows since and currently resides there. Her main influences are her faith in God, her dreams and the big cities vs. nature.
Jennifer works in oil paint on canvas, masonite, or wood. She finds inspiration for her paintings from dreams and visions she has had. "I want to create art that steps outside the confines of religious symbolism into the realm of experience, in which a larger than life mystery can be felt regardless of the religious background of the viewer." - Jennifer Glasgow Craig
