ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Emily Davis Adams (born in San Francisco, CA) is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Her work draws on personal history, art history, and environmental history, and investigates aspects of contemporary American landscape and its relationship to the languages of visual art. She has studied at UCLA school of Arts and Architecture, and received degrees from UC Berkeley (B.S., Phi Betta Kappa, studying environmental policy and art), and the New York Academy of Art (M.F.A., Cum Laude). She maintains deep ties to California, New Mexico and Arizona, where she has lived and continues to visit regularly. She has exhibited in New York City and Los Angeles, and is the recipient of several grants and residencies.
