Edwin Vazquez
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Edwin Vazquez is easily recognized for his unique scratchboard art seen in 'The Werewolf of NYC' comic books and editorial illustrations. His art has been compared to the likes of Jack Kirby and R. Crumb based on the experimental quality and cutting edge of visual storytelling. Inspired by his studies with Joey Cavalieri (DC Comics) and assistant work with legend Jerry Robinson (The Joker, Human Rights), Edwin continues to develop his craft in comic books, illustrations, printmaking and mural art.

ARTIST STATEMENT

While attending the School of Visual Arts, Joey Cavalieri opened the idea of working in scratchboard art where I have dedicated my life's work in the medium. Working along side comic book legend Jerry Robinson ignited my love for the comic book medium to become a working professional in the business. I continue to develop my craft in comic books, illustrations, printmaking and mural art. My work can be seen as dark humor, fanatic and explosive.
