Avery Daily’s most recent artwork is an exploration the relationship between painting and design creating a love affair between these two art forms. Daily creates geometric forms in his work that incorporate shape, pattern, line, color, and contour that’s routed in his earlier inspirations as an artist. His approach to the canvas is with a loose freehand which transforms his masterful precision in geometry and the rigidity of the trained technique into a moving and freeing experience for the viewer. Daily’s artwork represents a visceral ancestral connection in context of the present expressed through contemporary art. Daily’s paintings breath, they have skin, they are layered with emotions. Like humans, artwork has elements that may not be seen on the surface, but they are there, and can still be perceived and felt when you look at the artwork in its entirety.
