Ashley Addair is a visual artist, a new mama, and a nomadic adventurer. She is a modern dancer and holds track and field records in the state of Illinois. If she weren’t a painter she would be a scientist. Ashley’s paintings have been collected in Italy, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and the throughout the U.S. Her favorite color is yellow ochre neon mustard.
For me, art-making is a means of learning through the creation of metaphor. I am interested in pattern and fabric as an investigation of culture and narrative, color as a vehicle for the exploration of nuance and perception, and material as a connection to history. With these elements I am cultivating a capacity to be aware of the sacred in daily chores, motherhood, family relationships, and seasonal rhythms.
