NATHAN SAWAYA FEATURED IN TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

TriBeCa, Manhattan, New York

For the 11th year, the TriBeCa Film Festival has committed to give away unique fine art as awards to it's distinguished winners.  In one grand gesture, they've not only made the awards much more interesting, but also honored select New York based artists with their inclusion.  Needless to say, we approve.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, it turns out one of the artists included is Nathan Sawaya, an Artsicle artist. The particular sculpture that is being given for Best Narrative, Audience Choice, holds a very special place in Artsicle history.  Nathan Sawaya's "Ascension" was exhibited in the very first Artsicle show, Re:Materialize, hosted at Re:Creative in April of 2011. It then went on to live with one of our first corporate client's, Onswipe, for the duration of the year. Tonight, it will be presented to its winner and final home.

Nathan is in great company, selected among several distinguished New York artists, including  Peter Dayton, Walton Ford, Stephen Hannock, JR, Kim Keever, Clifford Ross, Cindy Sherman, Hugo Tillman, Kara Walker, and Stanley Whitney.  Our congratulations to Nathan and to all of this year's TriBeCa Film Festival participants. For more information, read here.

Ready for your own award?

Want to pat the back of someone in your life? Think you deserve an award? May I suggest a Hugman? Nathan's own form of LEGO street art, Hugmen have decorated everything from stop signs to bikes across the city. Sounds like the perfect start to your own trophy case.
