SHOW ALERT:
JOHN KESLING IN STUDIO VISIT MAGAZINE
New York, NY
Our own John Kesling was recently featured in the fifteenth volume of Studio Visit magazine, a publication that features the work of a hand-picked selection of visual artists and is distributed to over 2,000 galleries and curators internationally.
The two pieces featured in John’s full-page entry, “The Net” and “Jordan Going to Heaven,” both available here, are representative of his romantic, imaginative work with pastels and collage. A sense of humor and an interest in the mysterious informs this recent work: sources for inspiration are as varied as the Kentucky landscape, coffee, and Fiona Apple. Check out some of John's other pieces!
Artist’s statement:
“Invention, collection, ownership, war, religion, sports, language, music and art. All of these things seem to make humans more than what we really are. As fancy animals, we've built the pyramids, amassed 234 Jose Cansecos, mastered the bassoon and romanticized the Hudson all to impress a girl or boy.”
