Originally from New York and currently based in Montreal, Christine Garvey received her BFA in Printmaking & Drawing from Washington University in St Louis. She later went on to work with Master Printer Kitikong Tilokwattanotai at Chiang Mai Art on Paper Studios in Thailand, where she was an Artist in Residence. Since 2009, Garvey has taught print and mixed media workshops internationally at institutions like the Montreal Art Centre, Brooklyn's Third Ward, Betahaus Berlin, and Concordia University's International Program in Italy. Garvey is currently pursuing her MFA in Print Media at Concordia University as a Faculty of Fine Arts Fellow.
Christine Garvey is a Brooklyn-based artist who works in drawings,prints & collage. She later worked with printmaker Nicola Lopez as a studio assistant and coordinator. Garvey currently teaches DIY Printmaking at 3rd Ward's collaborative art center in Brooklyn and enjoys Francis Bacon, finely sharpened pencils, and collaborations of all kind.
