My work is inspired from difficult subject matter but comes out beautifully. I feel this is reflective of my optimistic nature. Recently relocating from Oahu to NYC, Carrie Able now lives and works from her studio in the East Village. The artist specializes in figurative oil on linen works and commissioned portraits. Able’s work has been shown in several publications including the National Geographic Traveler and has been displayed in the Toledo Museum of Art and the Honolulu Academy of Art. Her work is held in collections in the US and abroad. When Able is not painting she enjoys swimming, dancing, going to museums and concerts and spending time with friends and family. She has not yet braved surfing in a wetsuit.
